SWFD 2025

SATURDAY 5TH JULY 2025  //  10AM TO 10PM

VEHICLE SHOW  //  LIVE MUSIC  //  STALLS & GAMES

we're looking for vendors & sponsors for 2025

We are on the hunt for local businesses who are looking to promote/sell their products services, and to help raise money for a good cause. This year’s fundraiser is on Saturday 5th July 2025.

This year, we are really trying to scale-up the vehicle show side of the event, and this is where we’re hoping you’ll be able to help.

We think your company would be the perfect fit for our event – hundreds of people visit SWFD every year, with high footfall as fellow car & bike enthusiasts make their way around the event throughout the day. So we’d like to invite you to have a pitch at this year’s event to promote your business or even sell your products & services. Even if you don’t make a sale on the day, it’s a great way to get your name in front of people.

What is SWFD?

Somersham Wheelie Fun Day (or SWFD) was set up in 2017 to raise funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the public facilities in Somersham village: the playing field, football pitch, pavilion and all other facilities, used by not just residents of Somersham but from a number of other villages in the area. The event itself is a mix of a free vehicle show, a family day out and a live music concert, with performances from some of Suffolk’s best artists (Jax and Co, Three Chordettes & Andrew Heasman to name a few).

Over the years, the vehicle show aspect has grown in size massively, with a much more diverse range of cars and bikes on display, including modified, classic, retro, vintage and performance cars. Plus a large selection of motorbikes, tractors, military vehicles and more. In addition to all this, we host a wide variety of stalls and food vendors, ranging from arts & crafts to local motoring-related retailers.

Vehicle stalls

We’re looking for a selection of vehicle-related vendors, retailers, service providers, promoters and sponsors to be at this year’s show.

If you are able to join us, we can offer you the following:

  • Your own pitch in a new, dedicated vehicle stall area
  • Promotion of your company name & logo on our Facebook page, as well as other online promotional material
  • Listing on the stall-holder pamphlet on the day
  • Pitch size can be negotiated – you need more space? Just let us know!
  • Option to sponsor the event via banner spaces, kegs of beer, day programme ad-spots and more)

The event is promoted in most local publications as well as online forums and social media pages for vehicle enthusiasts, as well as to people who are more interested in their music and craft beer (something else we are proud of at SWFD) which can always lead to additional sales.

WE CAN HELP!

The important thing is that we want to accommodate you the best we can:

    • Want to buy space for an oversized banner in front of the stage? That’s fine!
    • Want to sponsor a keg of beer for the bar with your business name on it? You got it.
    • Need more space to fit all your products in? No problem.
    • Want a spare car to demonstrate your products or services on? Use one of ours!
    • Too busy to take a break but really need a coffee? I’ll go get it for you.
    • Want to make some engine noise? Go for it! (unlike other automotive events, we can make noise!)
    • Need water for your services or demonstrations? We have a large water bowser so you can use as much water as you want.
    • Need anything else to help make your stand work? Let us know – chairs, metal stakes, etc are available. Anything else, just ask and we’ll do what we can.

We’re absolutely more than happy to help you erect/distribute any promotional material you may have on the day (banners, flags, gazebo’s, flyers etc), but these would have to be provided at your own cost. We are always happy to discuss a sponsorship of the event and ensure you get promotional coverage proportional to that sponsorship.

Display Vehicles

For 2025, we really want to level up the car show side of things, so we’re introducing some exciting updates new to SWFD we’re hoping will make the show appeal to more and more car owners from Suffolk & the surrounding areas, including:

  • Awards with trophies & prizes
  • Vehicle display area divided into categories: Classic, Retro, Performance / Modified, Bikes
  • Club Stands area

  • Live music from 11:30am to 10pm
  • Family-fun games and activities
  • Raffles & prizes
  • Large range of food and drink vendors
  • Unlike other vehicle shows – we’re allowed to make noise! Let’s hear those engines!
  • No restriction on vehicle leaving times for display vehicles
  • And best of all, IT’S FREE!
  • Show runs from 10am to 10pm

OUR DONATION SETUP

Money is tight these days, it’s hard to ignore. Everyone needs to come out of this with an upside. As such, we do have to ask for a small contribution to help with the running of the event (Yes, I bet you were waiting for there to be a catch!). On the flip side, the only job we have for the day is to make sure everyone has a fantastic time in the vehicle display and that our stall holders come away knowing they have had a positive impact on their promotion and presence in the county.

  • Vendors:
    • Contribute 15% of takings on the day to the Wheelie Fund (minimum £15)
  • Promotors:
    • Businesses are asked to pay £30 for the day
    • Charities are asked to pay £15 for the day

New stall holders are asked to pay a £10 deposit on booking, which is deducted from the donation on the day.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

All funds raised after expenditure go towards the Community Association. This is the charitable organisation set up to impartially manage the facility’s location in Somersham and ensure it is usable and accessible to all for many years to come. The funds raised from the SWFD have had a substantial impact on the ability to maintain the facilities and ensure all manner of events can continue for the years to come. The sad truth is that without this event, there would not be enough money to sustain the facilities, leading to a partial shutdown and subsequently the road to all facilities being shut to the public.
